LATAM Airlines Group announced that it will relocate its operation at John F. Kennedy International Airport (New York) from Terminal 8 to Terminal 4 as of February 1, 2020. In this terminal, Delta operates more than 90 destinations in the United States. , Canada and the world.
This transfer will allow more fluid connections between LATAM and Delta flights in New York. From February 1, 2020, passengers traveling in the LATAM Premium Business class, in addition to the top tier categories of the LATAM Pass program (Black Signature, Black and Platinum) will also have access to a VIP lounge in the same terminal.
LATAM will automatically update reservations for those customers who have itineraries to / from New York (JFK) from February 1, 2020 onwards, taking into account the minimum connection times.

Since the announcement of the codeshares in December 2019 between Delta and LATAM Airlines Peru, LATAM Airlines Colombia and LATAM Airlines Ecuador respectively, the approvals have been received by the competent authorities in the United States and Colombia. Regulatory permits are expected in Ecuador and Peru, as well as the publication of the sale of such shared codes, during the first half of 2020. LATAM’s subsidiaries in Brazil and Chile also plan to establish code-share agreements with Delta in 2020, subject to regulatory approval.
In addition, both companies are working towards a smooth transition for their customers by establishing bilateral access to their respective VIP lounges and mutual frequent flyer benefits during the first half of 2020.
End of code share agreements with American Airlines
LATAM will formally terminate its codeshare agreements with American Airlines on January 31, 2020. Customers who purchased American Airlines tickets through LATAM before this date for flights from February 1, 2020 onwards will be entitled to the same services, without changes to your travel conditions or tickets.
The agreements between LATAM and American Airlines frequent flyer and reciprocal access to VIP lounges will remain in effect until LATAM leaves oneworld.
Departure of the oneworld alliance
In September 2019, LATAM informed oneworld and its partners that it would leave the alliance. The company is evaluating an early departure date per year, and any changes will be communicated in a timely manner.
After leaving oneworld, LATAM will maintain its bilateral agreements with most of the oneworld airlines (British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, S7 Airlines and SriLankan Airlines ), subject to final agreement.
