After the ribbon was cut, the guests gathered for the traditional sake ceremony to the sound of the taikos (Japanese drums), as the official opening of the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos. After breaking the lid of the sake barrel with wooden drumsticks, sake was served to guests in traditional masu cups like a big toast.
After the toast, an extravagant display of fireworks colored the sunset, reflecting over the ocean at Nobu Restaurant. The festivities continued throughout the night with entertainment that included fire dancers and the exclusive participation of the renowned American DJ and producer, DJ Cassidy.
Located on the idyllic peninsula of Baja California Sur, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos has brought contemporary international style to the coast already coveted for its natural beauty, wildlife and culture. The group’s first hotel in Mexico has four swimming pools, private cabins, an Esencia Wellness Spa, a Malibu Farm and the iconic Nobu Restaurant, surrounded by the world famous Diamond, with golf courses designed by Tiger Woods and Davis Love III.
With a structural vision, courtesy of the architects in charge, Monica Cuervo and Mark Yoshizaki of WATG, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos is situated on a strip of sand at the southernmost tip of the peninsula. The 200 rooms and suites overlook the ocean, and the interiors, the responsibility of Severine Tatangelo of Studio PCH, create a delicious balance between the Japanese style that Nobu is famous for and the strong local Mexican imprint.
